Strategies for the Team Project presentation

7/8/2014

This Wednesday (9 July) provides perhaps the final opportunity for your project team to gather (in person, at least) to make plans for the Team Project presentation. With this in mind, we've gathered together some pointers and resources that we hope will be of use as you put the finishing touches to your work.
  1. Take time, as a team, to revisit the Brief for the Team Project, in particular the assessment criteria. This might have the effect of sharpening your focus in the very final stages of this exercise.
  2. Re-read the slides from the Discussion and Presentation exercise, just to get a reminder of what's expected of you. In particular, I would direct your attention to the slides where we discussed 'What markers look for...' and 'Typical weaknesses in presentations'.
  3. Make use of the feedback from the Mid-Project Review. You should have three or more key recommendations that the markers will expect you to have acted upon.
  4. This is so important that I'm going to shout it. In bold. THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF YOUR PRESENTATION IS HAVING SOMETHING TO SAY! Or to put it another way, don't get so caught up in thinking about presentation slides and technique that you neglect the content.
  5. Spend a few minutes watching this entertaining and honest video where the Student Tutors share some last-minute presentation tips...

Other than that, good luck!
