This week is all about making inroads into the Team Project and Individual Essay assignments. With all six of the course themes now introduced you should be in a good position to put the different ideas and strategies into practice as you work towards the two assignment deadlines.
During our time together on campus on Wednesday 2 July there will be two formal sessions:
Mid-project Review for the Team Project This is where you will present your progress on the Team Project (as outlined in the Brief for the Team project on the Study and Assessment page of this site) before receiving feedback from two members of the course team. In order that you can put the suggestions into action right away, you will receive feedback (as a Team) towards the end of day. Practical arrangements for this exercise can be found on the Week 4 Introduction page.
Assessment forum for the Individual Essay This session gives you the opportunity to ask some final questions ahead of the deadline for this assignment on Friday 12 July (Week 5). We would encourage you to approach this session with a prepared list of any issues you would like clarification on (although as time will be short please make sure that you have re-read the Brief for the Individual Essay on the Study and Assessment page so that we can avoid going over issues that are covered within this document.
With only two formal sessions in class, the emphasis this week is placed firmly on independent study: if you make effective use of time inside and outside of class you will go a long way to successfully completing the Academic Skills course.
Full details of timings and venues for Wednesday 2 July can be found on the Week 4 Introduction page.
